Following on from last year's success, we're back with the Secret Cocktail Club pop up! This time however, we'll be exploring the application of a chosen spirit in one cocktail to see if it changes the flavour of the drink. To coincide with World Whisk(e)y Day, we're going to be taking a trip to New York (figuratively speaking) and exploring the Manhattan cocktail. Traditionally made with rye whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters, we'll be tasting 4 rye whiskies then putting each to the test in the spirit-forward cocktail, which you'll get to taste side by side in order to determine for yourself whether your choice of whiskey makes a difference to the final drink.
Taking place in a private venue in Sydney (which is next to a major train station 10 minutes out of the Sydney CBD), this will be the first of our series that promote a more intimate dinner party style gathering where you will get to interact with both host and guests alike. There'll be jazz, there'll be good conversation and above all, there'll be some cracking good drinks. Seats at the table are limited to 6-8 people and the session will last for approximately 2 hours. The following will be served at the table:
- Welcome drink
- Guided tasting of 4 rye whiskies
- Tasting flight of 4 Manhattan cocktails, made with each of the rye whisky on taste
- Grazing platter
