A quick guide to making the classic gin fizz cocktail
The gin fizz is a classic cocktail. Belonging to the fizz family of cocktails, this classic combination of gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and soda is different to the Tom Collins in that it is shaken and served without ice. A refreshing drink, you’d still have to drink this pretty quick unless you live in the North Pole.
How to make the Gin Fizz
60ml gin (we used Baker Williams Navy Strength gin)
30ml lemon juice
15ml simple syrup
Soda water to top up
Put gin, lemon juice and simply syrup in a cocktail shaker.
Fill cocktail shaker with ice
Shake for about 20-30 seconds
Strain out the ice and pour into a glass
Top up the glass with soda water
