Marmalade Margarita

How to make a Margarita when you don’t have any orange liqueur using a pantry staple - marmalade!

I was at the bottle shop recently when a couple wandered in, looking for triple sec to make margaritas. The bottle shop was out of any sort of orange liqueur, including Cointreau or Grand Marnier, and I found myself blurting out to them "use marmalade!" I'm sure they were sceptical about this (but were too polite to say so!) but after hightailing it home to test out my theory, I can tell you IT WORKS. Triple sec is a dry style of orange liqueur, often made by steeping orange peel in neutral alcohol and redistilled and whilst this hack using marmalade won't give you the exact same result, it's a pretty good stand in. All you need is marmalade and a bit of vodka and voila, a pretty decent Margarita, or as I like to call it - a Marmarita.
